Educational Forum for NGOs
|
|
LINS has initiated an education forum for NGOs. Since the first
meeting in 2002 representatives of various NGOs working in the field
of education and development have met regularly. So far, more than
50 people have attended, representing over 20 various NGOs. The
purpose of this forum is threefold; sharing experiences, building
competence and finally to voice concerns regarding Norwegian development
co-operation on education. In 2003 a high-profile meeting on the
new educational strategy was conducted, plus one meeting focusing
on Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers and their possible implications
for NGOs working in the education sector and a third meeting focusing
on partnership in education development.

in Nairobi. Approximately 35 participants from several countries,
institutions and organisations in Africa participated; many of them
have undertaken a mini-consultation in their work environment prior
to the conference in order to enrich the debate. The NGO forum thus
